PDF to Spreadsheet accepts PDFs, images, and supported presentation files so you can select table regions and convert them into spreadsheet-ready data.

Where processing happens

PDF rendering, region selection, grid editing, and table review happen in your browser. Some file types or conversions may be sent to the configured backend service when browser-only processing is not enough, such as presentation or image conversion before preview.

Browser storage

The app uses browser storage so an interrupted session can reopen with your recent file, selected regions, grid edits, converted table, and zoom preferences.

• IndexedDB database: pdfGridCache, store files, may contain the current file blob and converted table data.
• localStorage keys: pdfGridWorkState, pdfGridZoomChoice, sheetTableZoomChoice, and pdfGridAnonymousSession may contain table-region state, undo/redo state, layout clipboard data, split position, zoom preferences, and an anonymous conversion quota identifier.
• The app does not intentionally use sessionStorage for document state.

How to clear local data

Use the “Clear local data” control on the main converter page. It clears only the app-specific localStorage keys and the app-specific IndexedDB store listed above. You can also remove site data for PDFtoSpreadsheet.co from your browser settings.

Backend retention

The backend processes uploaded files in temporary working locations during conversion. The synchronous conversion path is intended to remove temporary conversion files after each request finishes. When async conversion is enabled, uploaded files and converted results are stored in private backend storage for short retention windows so the app can poll job status and fetch the result; current defaults are 24 hours for uploads, 24 hours for results, and 168 hours for minimal job metadata. There is not yet a separate customer-accessible retention dashboard, audit log, or deletion request workflow. Feedback messages sent through the support form may be delivered by email to the site operator and retained in that mailbox.

Current limitations

Do not upload files you are not allowed to process. This page does not claim attorney review, special compliance certification, end-to-end encryption, or security controls that have not been implemented and verified.
